Newspaper cutting indicate: the funeral took place on friday of Mr Alfred E Harling, of Hartley Ave. West Hasm, who died following an operation. deceased was for many years employed by Green and Silley Weir Ltd. at Blackwell. Mr H A J Silley and Mr B L Silley, accompanied by many colleauges and workmen, met the cortege at the City of London Cemetery gates. Six of his former apprentices acted as pall bearers.
