Notes for Annie O’BRIEN
Went to school in Killoscully and at age 13 went to help at Mackeys in Capparoe and from there went to School in the Silvermines for a period. Did her Leaving Certificate in Killoscully.
Ann went to work at Mackey in Capproe after doing her Leaving Certificate in Killoscully . Ann went to St. Lukes Hospital, Clonmel at age 19,for a short period before going to London to do General Nursing training in 1952. Ann was in London for two years before becoming ill with a slipped disc,which was operated on in 1954. Ann came back to her family home in 1954 and worked in her Aunts shop, Mackeys in the Silvermines untill she married Tom Carey in 1962.
